Effective thinking,like literacy and numeracy is not inborn it has to be learnt and practiced to be effective. It is the most important life skill both for individuals and society.
CoRT ‘Thinking skils for Schools’is the most widely used international programme used by 7.5 million chidren and students in over 30 countries around the world for the direct teaching of thinking in schools,including special needs,gifted,talented,deprived children and students. Using the tools and techniques devised by Dr de Bono, these tools may be referred to as ‘Operacy’- the management of thinking about doing.
Using the [Cort] thinking skills for schools, children and students will learn to:
>See themselves as active thinkers and therefore be able to hold a better self image of themselves
> Increase confidence in their own ability to succeed
> Solve problems more efficiently
> Turn problems into opportunities
> Consistently make good decisions
> Avoid making bad decisions
> Improve performance by thinking more deliberately in a more structured, organised and effective way
> Be creative in a results – based classroom lesson that makes children and students want to particpate
> Increase the number of new and practical ideas in the classroom dramatically
